Hamilton, ON (April 29, 2014)- They’re putting out the welcome mat to open the asphalt open wheel modified racing season in Ontario and being part of the fun couldn’t be easier.
Saturday, May 10 the OMRS is looking to attract the top open wheeled modified racing teams from across the province at Flamboro Speedway to be part of the 2014 Modified Spring Shakedown Invitational. The Ontario Modifieds Racing Series, powered by TORQUE BUILDERS INC. is excited to offer this one-time ‘membership free’ event, where all members and non-members can get the new campaign started.
OMRS is making it simple for everyone to compete in this inaugural affair, with just a tire change. All teams will be required to use the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series ‘spec tire’, which is the Towel City 8 inch retread. Teams can purchase a set of four of these tires at Peterborough Speedway for $480, including taxes. For the first six registered drivers who feel they will only run this one OMRS event, the series will buy your tires back for $380 immediately after the feature race. This is a one-time only offer. Conditions will be announced at Flamboro Speedway on race day – Saturday, May 10.
Ontario Modifieds Racing Series, powered by TORQUE BUILDERS INC. points will be awarded only to registered series drivers. Please see www.ontariomodifiedsracing.com for complete rules for all competitors. All non OMRS registered drivers will run as ‘non conforming cars’ as listed at the end of the rules section. OMRS welcomes any inquiries, comments and suggestions. Teams can contact series officials for clarity on any concerns.
A limited number of Ontario Modifieds Racing Series, powered by TORQUE BUILDERS INC. spec tires will be available at Flamboro Speedway Saturday, May 10 on a first come – first served basis. A tire machine and operator will be available on-site at the 2014 Spring Shakedown Invitational to assist all competitors. Teams may use Raceceiver Radios only. Two way radios will not be permitted. All race payouts will be made at the track, immediately after the completion of the feature race technical inspection. The decision of Ontario Modifieds Racing Series, powered by TORQUE BUILDERS INC. officials is final.
The first annual Spring Shakedown Invitational – Saturday, May 10 – at Flamboro Speedway is the year’s breakthrough asphalt open wheel modified event.
