MILLGROVE, ON – All three OSCAAR series were in action at Flamboro Speedway’s Frostoberfest, where Lane Zardo, Dale Reinhart and Dustyn Mombourquette scored victories, while TJ Edwards claimed the Super Late Model championship.
Lane Zardo Dominates the Bill Zardo Sr. Memorial
Some may call it a story of redemption. Others may call it a story of family legacy. Regardless, it is one of those moments that will remain in the minds of The Fyre Place & Patio Shop OSCAAR Hot Rods presented by Bromley Automotive Ltd fans for years to come.
After finding himself on his lid at last year’s edition of the Bill Zardo Sr. Memorial, Lane Zardo came out swinging at this year’s event and dominated, pacing all 46 laps en route to visiting Knightswork Design victory lane. It marks the second win of the season for the grandson of the late racer.

Tyler Hawn saw The Car Guy Auto Service green flag on the front row, alongside Zardo, and kept him in his sights, but was never able to mount a charge en route to second. It is enough for the past series champion to carry the points lead into the season finale at Peterborough Speedway by a single point over Steve Book. Book crossed the finish line in third ahead of Jacob Booth and Thomas Wunsch.
Trevor Thompson drove his Camaro to a sixth-place finish in front of Daniel Hawn, Adrian Foster, Drew Richardson, and Rob Poole. Luke Gignac, Ayden McNicol and Aaron McLean rounded out the field. Heat victories went to Lane Zardo and Tyler Hawn.
Reinhart Continues Stellar Season with Brian McLean Memorial Victory

While doing pre-season interviews, Dale Reinhart admittedly had one race circled on the schedule that he wanted to win more than others – the Brian McLean Memorial at Flamboro Speedway. He brought a fast car to the track this past weekend at Frostoberfest and was able to make that happen in dominating fashion with the Overkill Enterprise OSCAAR Modifieds.
The current series points leader found himself starting on the second row after a strong qualifying effort, wasting no time in taking over second-place. He then stalked the race leader Steve Trendell for a series of laps, making his move and taking over the lead on Lap 15. He led the remainder of the 47-lap feature en route to visiting Knightworks Design victory lane.
McLean was a driver who spent his entire racing career involved with the modifieds, whether driving or crewing for his son, and Reinhart knows that well, having been involved with the OSCAAR Modifieds for 10 years now. It was why, back in April, he recalled a memorable moment with McLean from his first career victory at Sauble Speedway.
“We were kind of struggling in practice, and we made a couple small changes, and we were talking about some set-up stuff,” Reinhart shared in April. “He was kind of shaking his head, like ‘I don’t think that’s gonna work’, and then we went out and ended up winning the race; that was our first win ever. Brian came round to the back of the car, and he just kind of lifted his hat and was just scratching his head and had a grin ear-to-ear on his face, and I will never forget that moment. It was pretty cool.”
Jason Keen found his way to the front after taking The Car Guy green flag from the third row, and looked as though he was poised to close in on Reinhart for the race lead. He came up short in his bid, crossing the finish line in second-place. Bryan Batty picked up a third-place finish ahead of Rick Burbridge and Brent McLean.
Early race leader Trendell faded back for a sixth-place finish in front of Matt Haufe, Amanda Balson, Coltin Everingham, Ryan Dick, and Rodney Rutherford. Wally Wilson was black flagged for leaking fluid early in the event and, with no cautions, he was unable to return, ultimately rounding out the field. Heat wins went to Dale Reinhart and Rick Burbridge.
Mombourquette Scores First-Career Super Late Model Victory

There were a pair of celebrations when the checkered flag waved on Saturday night to conclude OSCAAR’s portion of Frostoberfest at Flamboro Speedway.
Dustyn Mombourquette made the late-race pass to take over the top spot, leading the final 12 laps en route to Hoosier Racing Tire / Bicknell Racing Products victory lane, winning the Don Biederman Memorial for his first-career JRS Auctions OSCAAR Super Late Models presented by Just Foam It feature victory.
TJ Edwards crossed the finish line in second, not far behind Mombourquette, allowing him to be crowned the 2026 OSCAAR Super Late Model Champion after a consistent season across the province. Edwards led early and managed to keep himself close once he lost the top spot at Lap 23. He inherited the lead back with 13 laps to go, but was unable to hold off Mombourquette on the final restart. He won the title by two points, recording three top-fives in five races.

Dario Capirchio rebounded for a third-place finish, despite going around for a spin on the frontstretch, ahead of Todd Campbell and Trevor Monaghan.
Mike Miller put together a solid sixth-place result in front of Will Quarrie, Brandon Passer, Glenn Watson, and Brad Robinson. Passer looked to have the fastest car on the property, scoring the Shepherd Media Fast Qualifier Award and finding his way to the lead early in the event. However, a mechanical issue with the rear-end of the racecar ended his chances of winning at Lap 37.
The OSCAAR Modifieds and Hot Rods conclude their seasons at Peterborough Speedway as part of the Autumn Colours Classic. Qualifying will take place on Saturday, October 10, with the features scheduled for Sunday, October 11.
