As this year’s schedule winds down, GEN3 Electrical SportsMods by OMRS will run their penultimate event of the 2026 season, the Robert Maebrae Memorial Classic, on Saturday, August 29th at Peterborough Speedway.
A former snowmobile racer and competitor in the local oval’s Thunder Car/Super Stock division, Robert Maebrae ran selected events with the former open-wheeled modified incarnation of OMRS until his passing in November 2022. Group officials are encouraging fans to wear red to the track for this weekend’s event in memory of Robert and as a show of support for the Maebrae family.
Heading into the final event before a Friday, October 9th title showdown, during the 33rd annual Autumn Colours Classic, this year’s championship chase could go right down to the wire.
