GRAND PRAIRIE, ALBERTA – The past few weeks in the Red Bluff Outlaw Winter Series have been a bit of a challenge for Benjamin Silliker and the Team Silco QRC Locked n Loaded Factory Kart team. They have had fast cars, but were a victim of bad luck. While they have produced some strong runs, along with a pair of trophy dash wins, their A-main results have not been what the team had hoped. They are currently sixth in the overall point standings for the Beginner Box division after seven events.
His best finish of the series came on November 10th where he had a solid fifth place run, and also qualified first and finished second in his heat race that night. One week he was inside the top three and broke a chain. Another week he was spun out by another competitor. Despite the challenges, the young racer is having a lot of fun on the tour that takes them from their Grand Prairie, Alberta home to Red Bluff, California almost every weekend through the winter months.
“Hopefully our bad luck is out of the way and things start to get a bit better for us”, says Jason Silliker. “The Locked n Loaded QRC team has been excellent to work with. The QRC part of the team has just been bought out and we have been excited working the last few weeks with the new team owner, Jimmy Elledge, who comes with a wealth of knowledge, and has been part of NASCAR for several years and is part of the Red Bluff Outlaw Alumni.”
The next race in the Red Bluff Outlaw Winter Series comes this Saturday, December 15th. Benjamin will be back in the QRC Locked n Loaded Factory Kart looking for his first win before taking a break for the Christmas Holidays. The Red Bluff Outlaw Series ends in March, where the season will begin back in the east with the NC Chassis Quarter Midget car.
