OHSWEKEN, ON – Ohsweken Speedway’s 18th season of racing continues this Friday, July 5 when O’Neil’s Farm Equipment and Styres Gas Bar present Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Cars, Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stocks, HRW Automotive Mini Stocks, and Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bombers, plus Mini Stock driver Chad Smelser will be getting married on the track during intermission.
CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING SPRINT CARS: The Sprint Cars will get back to racing for championship points this Friday, following last week’s rainout, and a special challenge event with the Patriot Sprint Tour two weeks ago. 2011 champion Jim Huppunen sits atop the standings heading into the next event, with Glenn Styres, Jamie Collard, Mitch Brown, and 2012 champion Chris Steele giving chase.
AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS: Ryan Turner went to Klotz Canada Synthetic Lubricants Victory Lane on June 21, but his brother Cory is the driver at the top of the Thunder Stock standings. Jim Lampman, Lee Winger, Chris Dickie, and Mike Thorne also hold spots in the top 5.
HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS: Alex Schuts got his first career feature win on June 21, but he’s chasing Davey Boughton and Robin Elliott in the points standings. Boughton has a 23 point cushion over Elliott, with Schuts, Jason Lungaro, and Laura Hughes also in the top 5.
GALE’S AUTO AFTERMARKET BOMBERS: Max Chechalk got his first win of the season on June 21, and he’s only 14 points behind championship leader Dusty DeBoer. Chechalk, however, is fifth in the standings, as DeBoer holds a slim 1 point lead over Jesse McDonald, with Brady Longboat in third, just 6 points behind DeBoer, while Tim DeBoer is just 2 points behind Longboat.
