OHSWEKEN, ON – Charles Jones Industrial and JayMack Supplies presented the Late Model Open on Friday, September 4 at Ohsweken Speedway. Dylan Westbrook, CJ Field, Ryan Beagle, and Craig Cole took A-Main victories.

Kool Kidz-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Cars

Jacob Dykstra started on pole, with Dylan Westbrook next to him, for the 360 Sprint Car A-Main. Dykstra led the opening lap, but on the next lap he suffered a flip off turn three, bringing out the red flag. Westbrook assumed the lead on the restart. A second red flag came on lap five as Josh Hansen also flipped off the corner of turn three.

Westbrook had a great restart, blasting off ahead of the field. He had a comfortable two-second lead despite navigating heavy traffic with just four laps remaining. Westbrook grabbed the checkers first, reclaiming the top step of the podium once more. Skyler Evans picked up another top-three finish with his second-place result, as Matt Farnham claimed the final podium step in third. D.J. Christie kept his top-five streak alive with a fourth-place finish, while Eric Gledhill finished in fifth.

Late Model Open

Mike Lewis and Chad Homan brought the 25-car field to the green flag for the Late Model Open A-Main. Homan took the early lead, while the race saw multiple cautions in the opening laps. Homan led once more as racing resumed but, this time, he had CJ Field hot on his heels.

Field set up a pass for the lead on lap five, regulating Homan to second. Field proved to be unstoppable once he had the taste of the lead. Despite a mid-race restart, Field was virtually untouchable as he went on to claim victory at Ohsweken. Next to finish were Brian Speelman in second, Adam Turner third, Charlie Sandercock fourth, and Lewis fifth.

Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks

The front row of the grid featured Brian General and Mike Thorne to begin the Thunder Stock A-Main. Thorne led the opening laps before Kyle Wert set up his pass for the lead on lap three. Points leader Dave Bailey suffered a right-rear tire blowout on lap five that sent him into a spin off turn three, bringing out the caution. Bailey was able to get a new tire put on and remain in the race, albeit starting last on the restart. Trevor DeBoer became the third race leader on lap seven once racing resumed. DeBoer’s lead saw multiple race restarts that allowed Ryan Beagle to get closer to the front of the field.

Beagle pulled the trigger with eight laps to go, passing DeBoer for the lead, with Bailey behind him after having an amazing recovery from running in last place. Bailey tried everything to win the race, but Beagle held off the points leader to claim a well-deserved victory. Bailey settled for second-place, while Kyle Wert took third to round out the podium. Completing the top-five were DeBoer in fourth and Mark Bazuin fifth.

Insta-Insulation Mini Stocks

Mark Allan started on pole, alongside Mark Thorne, to take the green flag for the Mini Stock A-Main. Thorne had a fantastic start to the race; however, he lost the lead to Craig Cole after a race restart on lap seven.

Cole was determined to win the race as he successfully held off the field twice, with two race restarts, claiming an exciting victory for himself. Finishing out the top-five were Alexander Klotz in second, Alex Riely third, Tim DeBoer fourth, and Nick Erskine fifth.
