OHSWEKEN, ON – Epic Racewear and Bradshaw Brothers presented Championship Night on Friday, September 11 at Ohsweken Speedway. Matt Farnham, Steve Murdock, Dave Bailey, and Mason Anderson took A-Main victories.

Kool Kidz-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Cars

Eric Gledhill started on pole, with Mike Lichty next to him, for the 360 Sprint Car A-Main. Lichty took the lead right away, quickly building a one-second advantage over the field by lap seven. Matt Farnham started to eat into Lichty’s lead, tracking him down for an overtake for the lead on lap eleven.

Just as Farnham grabbed the top spot, a caution fell, with a second caution following shortly after. The restart of the race had Farnham and Lichty battle for the lead, but it was Farnham who had the better pace, assuming the position. Farnham went on to win the race. Next to finish were Gledhill in second, Lichty third, Darren Dryden fourth, and Ryan Turner fifth. Dylan Westbrook was abled to claim the championship with a solid top-ten finish, scored in sixth-place. Westbrook is now a six-time champion in the 360 Sprint Car division at Ohsweken.

Strickland’s Crate Sprint Cars

Mack DeMan and Steve Murdock led the 28-car field to the green flag for the Crate Sprint Car A-Main. Murdock led the opening laps before a red flag was thrown due to Niko Hansen and Tom Pellizzari colliding with each other, causing Hansen to flip on lap eight.

Both drivers were unharmed but had to retire from the race due to the damage sustained in the crash. Murdock resumed the lead once more, being unchallenged as he went on to win his second race of the season. Next to finish were Jesse Costa in second, Mike Bowman third, Darren McLennan fourth, and Keegan Baker fifth. Costa’s second-place finish granted him his first Crate Sprint Car championship at Ohsweken.

Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks

The front row of the grid featured Liam Shwedyk and Brian General to begin the 20-lap Thunder Stock A-Main. George Grosul made quick work of the top four as he overtook them to lead the opening lap. Dave Bailey raced down Grosul, passing him for the lead with 15 laps to go.

A caution came out on lap 14, followed by a red flag on lap 17, as Mike Klanzinga’s car caught on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and no one was harmed. Bailey had a successful restart, leading once more as he went on to win the race, making it 10 victories this season. Rounding out the top-five were Trevor DeBoer in second, Ryan Beagle third, Kyle Wert fourth, and Ron Loggie fifth. Bailey’s victory saw him achieve his eighth championship in the Thunder Stock division at Ohsweken.

Insta-Insulation Mini Stocks

Mark Thorne started on pole, alongside Mike Evers, to take the green flag for the 15-lap Mini Stock A-Main. Thorne took the early lead, but the opening laps featured multiple cautions. The restart saw Mason Anderson become the new leader on lap seven.

A very late caution set up a three-lap dash to the finish, seeing Anderson hold off the field to pick up the victory. Next to cross the line were Alex Riley in second, Craig Cole third, Tim DeBoer fourth, and Dusty DeBoer fifth. Riley’s second-place finish helped him claim his first championship in the Mini Stock division at Ohsweken Speedway.
