Kool Kidz-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Cars
Dylan Westbrook has been unbeatable in 360 Sprint Car competition at Ohsweken over the past five weeks. Westbrook has won three straight Kool Kids-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Car Features as well as tour races with the Patriot Sprint Tour and Southern Ontario Sprints. Last week’s win allowed him to grow his points lead to 31 ticks over the ‘Red Rocket’ Jim Huppunen. Cory Turner and Mikey Kruchka sit third and fourth, respectively in the standings, while Mitch Brown leap froggen Ryan Turner last week to round out the top-five.
Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars
The Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Car division had a tough but exciting Feature event last week. Mack DeMan’s second win of the season closed the points gap behind leader Jesse McDonald to just seven. Holly Porter remains very much in the mix just 10 points behind McDonald. Shone Evans sits fourth while Turkey, a teammate to McDonald and Porter, sits fifth in the standings entering this weekend’s action.
Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks
Ryan Dinning earned his second win of the season last Friday night, holding off current point leader Dave Bailey. Bailey still holds a 45-point advantage over Dinning, who suffered through some early season mechanical problems. Those two drivers have won every Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stock Feature at Ohsweken since July 25, 2016. They’ll be challenged again this week by a hungry field, including Dereck Lemyre, Ken Sargent and Jim Lampman who round out the top-five in the current point standings.
HRW Automotive Mini Stocks
The HRW Automotive Mini Stocks point battle continues to heat up. Mark Bazuin holds the current point lead, but is under the watchful eye of Jon Janssens and Brandon Crumbie, who are 18 and 33 markers back, respectively. Rookie driver Nick Masi continues to surge up the standings and sits in fourth, one spot ahead of Tim DeBoer.
Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bombers
The Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bombers continue to produce thrilling racing with 20-car fields racing on the infield oval more often than not on Friday nights. Lucas Smith has been the hot shoe so far this season with three wins and has a 27-point lead over Paul Longboat. Gillian Hils sits third and has one win. Dustin Longboat and Jerry Burnham finished still hold top-five spots in fourth and fifth, respectively.
