@VintageMods •@FlamboroSpdwy •MILLGROVE, Ont. – June 28, 2016 – The Lucas Oil Canadian Vintage Modifieds invaded Flamboro Speedway for the first of three twin 20-lap events at the Hamilton area track this season on Saturday night. Brian Atkinson and Steve Trendell went to victory lane in the two feature races.

Ian Burney and Daryl Henwood brought the field to the green flag for the first 20-lap feature. Henwood claimed the point position early on with Atkinson and Jason Keen in tow. A caution for a spun John Karley after contact with TJ Marshall slowed the race early. Atkinson was strong on the following restart and pulled Keen and Trendell along to the top-three.

Another caution gave Trendell the opportunity to take second from Keen. Trendell took the bottom lane from the driver of the No.18, but ducked too low and lost control as he spun to the infield. Atkinson was flawless in the remaining laps on the way to his first feature win of the season.

The second feature placed Trendell’s No.57 on the point with Karley to his outside. It took two attempts to get the race up to speed and Trendell claimed the early lead when it did. Marshall and Keen followed the point man initially until a caution for a turned Karley.

Trendell maintained the top spot with a good jump on the restart, as did the third-place Keen who drove under Marshall to take away the runner-up position. The field ran the final 15 laps without issue and Trendell paced the field to the checkered flag for his second win of the 2016 season.
