PICTON, ON (March 23, 2020)- Throughout the years, a variety of different racing machines – including a dirt track Pro Late Model, DIRTcar Sportsman-Modified and Small Block Mod – have travelled to the track inside Adam Turner’s hauler. With the 2020 schedule coming-up quickly, the 37-year-old second generation racer from Picton, Ontario has announced his plans for the new season.
“I’ve raced a bit of everything during my career, but my time in the Street Stock division has always been a favourite,” Turner said. “The fields are strong and the competition is always great. I can’t think of a better place to be as we head into 2020 and I’m excited about getting things underway again.”
Despite getting a later than expected start to the 2019 schedule and only running a limited schedule that included dates at Brighton Speedway and The BOS, Adam Turner – who works as a mechanic at the Picton location of Stormy’s Auto Group – had some fun and scored a pair of wins in his own car. He also reached a personal milestone with a checkered flag in the Great Crate Race for Pro Late Models during Brighton’s Applefest Shootout Weekend, while subbing for his friend Kyle Sopaz.
“We’ll have pretty-much the same package as we did last year, focusing on the Thunder Stock class at Brighton and Brockville’s Street Stock division when time allows,” said the driver. “I’d also like to hit the road and take in some of the out of town shows, including the Duel in the Dirt dates at Merrittville and some of the special events at Ohsweken and Humberstone as my work schedule permits.”
Even with the first green flag of the year just over a month away, the father of three – whose own father Paul Turner was voted into Brighton Speedway’s wall of fame – is busy dotting i’s and crossing t’s to make sure everything is on schedule for the season opener.
Adam Turner’s program will be proudly supported by Village Variety & Gas Bar, The Work Gear, Stormy’s Auto Group, Paul Turner Auto Repair, Reg Grosse Construction, OPSEU/We Own it Campaign, Mayhew Graphics, Gates Race Design, A/C Outlaw, Angie’s Pooper Pumping Septic Service and Clarke Motorsports Communications. “I’m looking forward to the start of the 2020 schedule and can’t wait to get back to the track.”
