GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (January 9, 2012)  After a very successful event in 2011, the popular Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series will return to the IHRA Mopar Nitro Jam Nationals at the Grand Bend Motorplex in 2012.

Friday July 20th will see a complete TNTSS 10.90 event, from two rounds of qualifying to final eliminations – A warm up for the Nitro Jam weekend.

“We’re very excited to be returning in 2012,” said Ted Barnes, TNTSS Director.  “It’s a terrific opportunity that adds value for the sportsman racers making the trip to Grand Bend.”

Last year’s TNTSS event saw 35 racers pull through the water box in round one.  But when the dust settled, it was Rob Holden from Parkhill, Ontario taking the win light in the final and adding his name to the elite list of TNTSS event winners.

“We are very happy to have the TNT series returning to the Mopar Nitro Jam event in 2012,” said Paul Spriet, Chief of Operation at Grand Bend Motorplex.  “They were a great addition to the 2011 event plus it offers many of their competitors the opportunity to enter the MNN event as well. So it is a win-win for everyone.”

About the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series (TNTSS):

Since it began in 2006, the TNT Super Series has grown into one of the strongest, most competitive sportsman drag racing series in North America and has catapulted many competitors to success on the national and divisional stages.

The TNTSS is a self-governing organization with input from its teams.  Based on NHRA’s Super Street & IHRA’s Hot Rod classes, competitors run on a 10.90 index in the 1/4 mile (7.00 in the 1/8 mile) and race for a guaranteed purse that pays back more than 100% of the racer’s entry fees.  The yearend points fund pays the top five finishers and the Series Champion receives a prize package worth over $3500.00.

The TNTSS is committed to providing the highest level of competition backed by solid media support to showcase its participants across North America.  Events are contested at various drag racing facilities in southern Ontario and western New York and put on a spectacular show for the drag racing fan.
