Milverton, ON – Kyle Steckly is preparing to travel south to race his No. 22 APC Auto Parts Pro Late Model in the Snowflake 100 at the 55th annual Snowball Derby on Saturday, December 3.
It was an intense season for Steckly, racing in both the Delaware Speedway Weekly Series and the APC United Late Model Series. With 26 starts, 21 top-tens, 16 top-threes and six wins under his belt in the 2022 season alone, Steckly is ready to make his American racing debut at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.
“I’m really looking forward to running at the Snowball Derby in the Snowflake 100,” said Steckly. “It’s an event I have wanted to race in for a long time, it’s the biggest late model race in North America and the best of the best are going to be there, so I’m excited to see how we stack up.”
With 56 cars registered and only 32 starting the race, this half-mile high-banked paved oval is sure to host some very tight and exciting racing!
“I’m really excited to carry the APC colours and represent them in Florida,” Steckly continued. “We had great success in our first season together in Ontario and I’m looking forward to keeping that momentum going in our biggest race yet. Without their continued support, this trip would not be possible and I’m excited to keep growing our relationship.”
“Theetge Group is helping us get there with a couple of sets of tires. I’m really thankful for the friendship I have with Donald Theetge, he has been a big supporter of mine and I look forward to racing with him in the future.”
“AW Millwrights and Caldecott Millwrights are supporting the trip as well. I’m really happy to have AW Millwrights on the car, being one of the original sponsors of 22 Racing, and welcoming Caldecott Millwrights to the 22 Racing team for our trip is awesome. Cory does great things for our sport and I hope we can work together more in the future.”
“MBS Motorsports and Sierra Construction have also come on to support us for this race. I have created a great friendship with Dominic, Jeff and Donny. I’m thankful for all of the support they have given me over the past year and I’m really happy to have them on the car.”
Without the support and commitment from Steckly’s numerous sponsors, new and old, and the continued support from his local sponsors, this new racing venture would not be possible.
Practice will begin on Thursday, December 1 at 11am EST and continue on Friday, December 2 at 11:45am EST and 3pm EST. Qualifying will be at 4pm EST on Saturday, December 3. The Snowflake 100 will take place on Saturday, December 3 at 8pm EST. Fans can watch this race and find more information by checking out RacingAmerica.com.
