@Relentless88R • @PtboSpeedway • @OSCAARRacing • DURHAM, ON – After a top-5 finish in his OSCAAR Modified Tour debut a year ago, former Ltd. Late Model regular Tommy Robb is anticipating a return to the Crown Jewel event with hopes of repeating the same success.
“We had a great ‘Classic’ last year, hopefully we can follow up on it this weekend,” says Robb. “Our Peterborough program is really good – it’s definitely one of our strongest tracks.”
The tour freshman will look to cap off what’s been an up-and-down rookie season, with a strong finish in the biggest event of the 2014 campaign.
“Overall we’ve had a good season,” offers Robb. “We had motor problems midway through the season that really hurt us, but we’ve worked through it. It’s been a huge learning curve transitioning from Late Models to Modifieds. The competition level on this tour is incredible – these drivers are some of the most talented I’ve ever raced against.”
As talk of the Classic continues – it’s clear how much the event means to the Durham, ON veteran.
“It’s the best time we have all year,” says ‘Relentless’. “From the moment you unload until you pack up at the end of the weekend, it’s impossible not to have fun at Peterborough.”
“The on-track action is second to none,” continues Robb. “It just seems as though every driver in the province is able to find another gear for ‘the Classic’. It’s the event that everybody wants to win and guys are willing to do just about anything to get there.”
“I’m excited about every single aspect of this weekend,” adds Robb with a smile. “From the race to the tech line, to the beer pong tournament on Friday night to the feature on Sunday. This weekend is better than Christmas. Our whole team is counting down the minutes until we roll through those gates.”
