PETERBOROUGH, ON (January 24, 2019)- Another exciting calendar of action at Peterborough Speedway is just around the corner. The 52nd consecutive season of short track racing at the venue known as Canada’s Toughest 1/3-Mile Paved Oval gets closer every day. 2019’s first green flag waves Saturday, May 18th and the hardest work of the year has everyone busy. Track owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse and his promotional team are putting the finishing touches on the new schedule and recently announced that the Summer Toonie Nights, with $2.00 spectator grandstand admission – presented by Pepsi – will be back again.

“These shows have always been some of the most popular on the agenda, but when we made the post on the track’s social media platforms, people were tagging friends and wearing-out their ‘like’ and ‘share’ options,” said J.P. Josiasse. “Fans like the fact that they can catch a great night of racing, with a driver autograph session at intermission for just $2.00. It’s the best family entertainment value anywhere in Central Ontario.”

The Summer Toonie Nights – presented by Pepsi – on the 2019 schedule are June 1st, July 6th and August 17th. In each case, the main grandstand gates open at 4:00, with racing starting at 5:00. Again this year, Peterborough Speedway kicks-off its racing calendar with the Country 105 Season Opener. Saturday, May 18th spectator admission is free to welcome fans back for another exciting season of action at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road.

“Its how we’ve started-off the racing year for more than 15 seasons and we’re not about to give-up on a good thing,” Josiasse said. “Like all of our advertising partners and weekly racing sponsors, Country 105 has been a great friend to the track and we’re lucky to have them on-board. Their support has been a big reason for our success.”

From the Victoria Day Weekend Saturday, May 18th lid-lifter to the 3-day Thanksgiving Autumn Colours Classic finale – October 11th through 14th – Peterborough Speedway’s 52nd season is ready to rock, with the hometown Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Super Stock and Late Model divisions sharing the weekly spotlight.
