After full seasons in the Delaware Speedway Pro Late Model division in 2010 and 2011, Gord Shepherd has announced he will not make the 600+ km roundtrip journey from his home in Oro-Station to the London-area speedplant in 2012.
Instead, ‘The Smoke’ has decided to compete for the championship in Sunset Speedway’s 4-race MRE Pro Series, in addition to a possible appearance at Kawartha Speedway’s marquee Summer Sizzler event. Shepherd joins 2011 Delaware Speedway champion Andrew Gresel, 2011 Garry Reynolds Memorial winner Mike Bentley, 2011 Grisdale Triple Crown champion David Elliott, 2010 Sauble Speedway champion Jason Parker and former NASCAR Canadian Tire Series regular Kent Nuhn as drivers to have already committed to running the entirety of the much talked about mini-series.
