May 13, 2014- The Southern Ontario Sprints are set to kick off the 19th season this Victoria Day long weekend at Brighton Speedway and Humberstone Speedway.
When the green flag flies at Brighton Speedway this Saturday, May 17th, it will start the race to the 2014 championship for the longest running sprint car series in Canada, the Southern Ontario Sprints.
2013 champion Chris Jones of Carrying Place, Ontario will be looking to defend his crown and pick up where he left off from last season with a win at Brighton Speedway.
The level of competition will be in high gear as the drivers of the SOS return to action. Look for former Brighton Speedway winners Glenn Styres, Keith Dempster, Warren Mahoney and Rick Wilson to be mixing it up with those looking for their first trip to victory lane at Brighton, such as Bob Crawford, Paul Pekkonen and Brad Lodge
Sunday May 18th the traveling SOS series will make the trip west around Lake Ontario to Port Colborne, Ontario to compete at Humberstone Speedway for the first time since 2008. Glenn Styres was the last driver to wheel into Victory Lane with the SOS at Humberstone Speedway where Mike Woodring, Kyle Patrick, Rick Wilson and Kevin Job have also visited.
The SOS will make a second visit to Humberstone Speedway later in the season (June 15th) as well.
Don’t miss the action as the Winged Warriors with Attitude of the Southern Ontario Sprints shake the grand stands for the opening weekend of the 2014 season.
