The 360 Sprint class hit the track for race two of its four-race championship at Brighton Speedway on Saturday, August 15. The night also featured Late Models, Canadian Modifieds, Thunder Stocks and Mini Stocks.
The 25-lap 360 Sprint feature was led to green by No. 7C Dylan Swiernik. Behind him were No. 5 DJ Christie, No. 12DD Darren Dryden, No. 19KC Mathieu Bardier and No. 47X Dylan Westbrook.
Swiernik fired first and was able to build a solid lead over Christie and the rest of the pack. By Lap 6, he began lapping slower traffic as Christie continued to chase him for the lead.
A caution on Lap 12 slowed the field, but Swiernik held on to the lead through the restart. On Lap 16, Christie briefly appeared to take the lead, but Swiernik regained the top spot the following lap.
The feature ended with Dylan Swiernik taking the checkered flag first. DJ Christie finished second, followed by Darren Dryden, Dylan Westbrook and Skyler Evans.
Thirteen Late Models hit the track for their 30-lap feature, with No. 41 Ryan Lambert on the pole. No. 21 Rich Sanders started second, followed by No. 07 Curtis King, No. 3 Nathan Rinaldi and No. 46 Brandon Mowat.
As the green flag flew, Lambert jumped out to an early lead. During the opening 10 laps, the battle for second and third was fierce. Rinaldi and King moved past Sanders, with Mowat close behind. Mowat took over second by Lap 9, but Lambert had already built a significant advantage.
On Lap 14, a caution brought Lambert back to the field and gave Mowat a chance to challenge for the lead. Instead, Mowat found himself defending second from Rinaldi.
The final 10 laps saw Charlie Sandercock charge into the top three, dropping Rinaldi back in the running order. Despite several cautions, Lambert secured his second feature win of the season. The top-five finishers were Ryan Lambert, Brandon Mowat, Charlie Sandercock, Anthony Rinaldi and Curtis King.
The Canadian Modified 25-lap feature began with No. 85 Brittany Moon on the pole, followed by No. 1 Shawn Gregory, No. 7 Rick Phillips, No. 91 Jaiden Miller and No. 40 Ron Wadforth.
Moon led the opening laps with an impressive performance at the front of the field. By Lap 8, Gregory worked his way into the lead, with Wadforth close behind.
Wadforth soon moved into second and the battle between Gregory and Wadforth was on. Eventually, Wadforth took over the lead, leaving Gregory trying to reclaim the top spot. Behind the leaders, Moon battled with Phil Potts and Leslie Mowat for position. She held her ground and, on the final lap, moved past Gregory to take second-place.
The feature finished with Ron Wadforth taking the win, followed by Brittany Moon, Shawn Gregory, Phil Potts and Leslie Mowat.
Twenty-two Thunder Stocks took the green flag with No. 44 Tommy Bailey and No. 45 Dylan Riley on the front row. No. 74 Mike Lucas and No. 82 Brad Brooking lined up in the second row, with No. 26 Brock Gregory just behind them.
Bailey held the lead at the drop of the green, while Lucas took second from Riley. Meanwhile, Gregory worked his way past Riley and Brooking while chasing Lucas. Gregory moved into second on Lap 6 with Bailey still leading.
Bailey held strong, but Gregory could not be denied. On Lap 14, Gregory took the lead and drove on to victory lane. The race finished with Brock Gregory in first, Tommy Bailey second, Dylan Riley third, Tyler French fourth and Doug Anderson fifth.
The 15-lap Mini Stock feature was led to green by No. 22 Keith Dunk. No. 1 Coleson Gregory followed, along with No. 97 Kyle Gregory, No. 37 AJ Peters and No. 2 Trevyn McCrillis.
A quick caution after the opening lap put Coleson Gregory on the pole for the restart. Kyle Gregory followed closely behind, with McCrillis and Peters right on his tail.
On Lap 9, Tyson Gregory moved into third after getting by McCrillis. The top-three for the remainder of the feature were Coleson Gregory, Kyle Gregory and Tyson Gregory. The three Gregory drivers traded positions throughout the race, but it was Coleson Gregory who crossed the finish line first. Tyson Gregory finished second, Kyle Gregory third, Trevyn McCrillis fourth and Jack Veenstra fifth.
