@SOSsprints •@BrightonSpdwy •(June 17, 2016) – London, Ontario – The 21st season of Southern Ontario Sprints series racing continues this weekend when the tour heads back to Brighton Speedway for the fourth round of the 2016 calendar.
Vanderlaan Building Products, Belleville Nissan, and Sanderson’s Tire & Automotive present the second of six scheduled SOS visits this season to the 1/3 mile oval located on the shores of Lake Ontario.
Jamie Turner leads sons Ryan and Cory in the SOS championship points standings heading into Saturday’s event. Dylan Westbrook, Alex Hill, Mike Ferrell, Frank Baranowski, Shawn Sliter, Mitch Brown, and Ryan Susice make up the remainder of the top 10.
The SOS tour has raced at Brighton 97 times since 1997, with Rick Wilson’s 22 wins topping the all-time list at the Northumberland County track. Mitch Brown claimed his 5th career Brighton Speedway win in the 2016 SOS season opener on May 21.
Round two of the SOS season was rained out at South Buxton Raceway on June 4, while Ryan Susice got his first Sprint Car win in the third round of the SOS season at Humberstone Speedway on June 5.
Everyone from the SOS tour would like to send get well wishes to Warren Mahoney. The former two-time SOS champion and three-time Brighton winner recently announced that he will be missing a large portion of the season due to illness. He is targeting Labour Day Classic weekend at Brighton as his return date, and we hope to see him back for that event, if not sooner!
