@FlamboroSpdwy • (November 4, 2016)- The final Endurance race of the 2016 season was one to remember. Great weather and 110 cars signed in was a Halloween recipe for a great race. Many red flags early as so many cars at times made the track impassable. Once the cars settled in and the numbers dwindled off, some great battles were setting up.

\David Deschenes and past winner Jamie Cox led early but had troubles and retired. Lap 91 saw Karl Sault take a wild ride and get airborne and just about went over. Ryan Dinning also led for a while and Rodney Rutherford was leader with about 100 laps to go. The race wore on and Rutherford kept leading and as the race came down to the checkered flag it was Rutherford coming across first.

Immediately however the scorer for the 024 of Bryan Bateson came to the head scorer and protested the finish saying his car had run 302 laps. Several hours went by as track staff met to try figure it out. A final decision was put off and several meetings took place over the coming days and finally it was determined that some irregularities in the score sheets for the 024 had disqualified him and Rutherford was officially named the winner of the $10,000 Halloween Enduro.

Thanks to Glen Hils, Brenda Shunamon and all those that took so much time to make sure we made the right decision. Congratulations to the #74 of Dale Coutts as the fan favorite for the Best Appearing Halloween themed car. He wins $500. And the demolition derby afterwards was very exciting I heard. #26 Dave Patton was forst followed by #53 Chris Rivers.

Thanks to Ingrid Hartman for the video of this amazing race!: Enduro – https://youtu.be/B4HDe2uPO0o
