MILLGROVE, ON (June 7, 2018)- Coming off a fourth-place finish in the APC Auto Parts United Late Model of Ontario Tour season opener, the second race of the campaign didn’t go as smoothly for Spencer-Walt Motorsports at Flamboro Speedway.

Starting 12th for the 100-lap feature, Spencer-Walt started off the ordeal by biding his time, riding in line and waiting for the race to play out before moving forward. Though as he began to start to make-up ground, a stack up at Lap 45 would cause contact, resulting in him going around in turn three and four. He would be able to return to the race, but repairs would result in Spencer-Walt going a couple laps down in the progress. The team didn’t give up yet, though, and a series of cautions through the next 20 laps would allow him to get himself back on the lead lap.

Ready to make-up the lost ground from the initial incident, he began to make his way forward. However, when the race leader Brandon Watson tagged the back of the slower car of Paighton Jacobs, it caused a stack-up through the field, with Spencer-Walt getting spun around with significant damage in the process. As a result, he would be done for the feature, credited with a 21st-place finish.

The next scheduled race for the APC Series takes place at Peterborough Speedway on June 16.

Spencer-Walt Motorsports is proud to be supported by Gohydrovac.ca, Jim Wilson Chevrolet, Auto Trim Design, Byer’s Equipment Motorsports, Orser Technical Services, Heidi’s RV Superstore, GreenSteelRoof.ca, HOTC, Speedy Auto Glass Orillia, Frame Shop Huntsville, Speedy Auto Machine, Red Castle Performance, and EPIC Racewear.
