Nexen Tire begins O.E. Supply to Chrysler

Recently, Nexen and Chrysler (one of the Big 3 automobile manufacturers in the US) conducted the supply kick off ceremony at Sterling Heights Assembly plant with participations from both companies’ key personnel for major 2014MY models, Chrysler “200” and Dodge “Avenger.”

Such success showed Nexen’s development capability of due dated development period for two vehicles, and recognized as one of Chrysler’s key supplier.

Nexen has been contracted and currently under development for several vehicles including passenger vehicles and pick-up trucks and expect the total volume to increase by year 2014.

By supplying tires for the 2014 Chrysler ‘200’ and Dodge ‘Avenger’ models, Nexen has officially announced its OE tires supply for the US market. Moreover, Nexen has signed sponsorship with MLB clubs including LA Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers, etc… to strengthen marketing to further assist expansion for the OE tire market in the US market.

Hyun Bong Lee, CEO & Vice Chairman of Nexen Tire stated “After building the new plant in Changnyeong, Korea, visits from the world class automobiles manufacturers have rushed, and this contract is one of the results from it,” and “Now, there are supply discussion ongoing for other models with Chrysler Group LLC, so the supply of Nexen Tire to O.E. market in the US is expected to expand sharply.”
