Stayner ON- Scott Tapley and the Ratchet Racing Team were crowned the 2013 CASC GT3 Sprints Champions this past weekend at the CASC/Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Celebration Weekend. The #78 Arctic Snowplows, Stayner Travel Trailer Chevy Silverado driver clinched the championship on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the legendary track, by winning the GT3 Class in Race 1.
Tapley who won a GT Challenge championship in 2011 and was a GT Challenge runner up in 2012 was elated to win the championship.
“It’s awesome to have one another championship under our belt” exclaimed Tapley after emerging from the cockpit. “To have one over such stiff competition as Doug (Philips driver of the #9 Chevy Silverado) and Martin (Martin, driver of the #77 Chevy Monte Carlo), makes winning this championship all the more sweeter!”
Tapley was also excited to secure the championship for Arctic Snowplows who were guests of the team at the event.
“Arctic Snowplows has been with us since the beginning” said Tapley “Their partnership has meant so much to our team, their support has impacted our ability to win these championships. I believe we have also fit well into Arctic’s marketing by road racing a pickup truck for a snow plow company”.
Tapley rounded out a successful season during Sunday’s races by finishing second in Race Two and third in Race Three of the weekend. Tapley and the Ratchet Racing crew are looking forward to some down time prior to planning and prepping for next season.
