It may be his rookie season at Brockville in the 358 Modified division, but Luke Stewart looked like a seasoned veteran last Saturday night in his most impressive performance in the 358 Modified division.
Stewart battled for the lead early, raced clean and hard with some of Brockville’s best, and ended the night with a top ten finish.
After struggling a little in his heat race, Luke came back to the pits and discussed what changes to make to the car before the 30 lap feature. Stewart started from fourth place, on the outside of row two, and looked strong early, moving go second before the completion of lap one. On a lap nine restart, Stewart got a great run on the outside of the track, and took the lead briefly before getting shuffled back to fifth. Stewart would end the night with a seventh place finish.
“We had a great run tonight”, says Stewart after the race. “The car really performed well. I am looking forward to coming back next week. I have to thank my Dad, and the crew and all of our sponsors for their support”.
Stewart will be back in action this coming Saturday night at Brockville Speedway. After two events, Luke currently sits 11th in track points, just seven points out of the top ten.
Luke would like to thank all of his sponsors going into the 2012 racing season. They include Fort Glass, M.A. Barr Service Station Maintenance, RW Electric, McCoy Bus Tours, Wemp & Smith Construction, Penny Blake of Remax Realty Kingston, Southeastern Telecommunication Services, Number One Speed Equipment, Stewart Speed Supplies and Finish Line Web Design. Also a very special thanks goes out to Wayne and Donna Smith for all of their support.
