Freelton, ON (August 2, 2017)- On Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway, Luke Gignac put together a smooth feature en route to scoring a podium finish.
Gignac started off the night solidly, placing second in both of his qualifying heats.
Starting fifth in the 30-lap feature, he slipped back to sixth in the early stages before avoiding a spin ahead of him at Lap 6 to move back into the top-five. Restarting fifth, he once again dropped back to sixth and remained there till the second caution. Following the second restart, he moved up two spots into third and remained there till the third yellow flag at Lap 13.
Restarting third, he held off the field behind him, but was unable to track down the top-two drivers in the second half of the event. As a result, he crossed the finish line in third.
With only one finish outside of the top-five this season, Gignac sits third in the OSCAAR standings, seven points behind points leader Cory Horner.
ADAMS Motorsports and Gignac will be back in action this weekend at Peterborough Speedway for the Chase for the Colours.
