Merlin, ON- After coming up 1/100th of a second short of victory at Brighton Speedway on June 8th, Chris Jones has come back with a vengeance. Jones led all 20 laps of the Southern Ontario Sprints feature at South Buxton Raceway on Saturday, August 3rd to capture his second straight SOS win.

Brad Lodge and Dain Naida started the 20 lap feature from the front row, however a spin by the pole sitter in corner one put the field under yellow. Lodge collected Dick Mahoney sending Mahoney to the trailer for the night. Chris Jones inherited the top spot for the complete restart.

At the drop of the green flag Jones pulled away and stretched his advantage over Naida. Lapped traffic quickly became a factor for the leaders, however Jones was able to maintain his lead while passing cars. The gap would close though on lap 7 as Gord Bennett spun off of corner two and brought out the second and final yellow of the race.

On the restart Jones again put distance between himself and second place Naida. In the closing laps Glenn Styres worked by Naida into the runner-up position. The remainder of the race went caution free and Jones cruised to the win over Styres and Naida.

The win combined with a 4th place finish for point leader for Jamie Collard and a 7th place for Mitch Brown helped tighten title chase for Jones.

The Southern Ontario Sprints return to action on Saturday, August 10th at Brighton Speedway for round #5 of the 2013 season.
