HAMILTON, Ontario (August 12, 2019)- — Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway marked the second round of the Grisdale Triple Crown, and it did not disappoint.

A full field of Grisdale Racing Products Late Models took the green flag for the 100-lap feature, prepared to do battle all the way through. Going green to checkered, the drivers raced each other hard – but cleanly – for positions around the 1/3-mile oval all the way through.

J.R. Fitzpatrick found his way to the front of the field, but was unable to escape those behind him with round one winner Shae Gemmell in hot pursuit. It came down to the final 10 laps, with the nose-to-tail together.

Coming off of turn two with six laps to go, the pair made contact, sending Fitzpatrick spinning. The No. 84 Late Model would do a complete 360 spin, with Fitzpatrick regaining control and keeping the lead in the process.

J.R. Fitzpatrick would lead the rest of the way en route to picking up the checkered flag. Shae Gemmell, who set the quickest time in qualifying with a lap of 15.101 seconds, crossed the finish line in second. Billy Schwartzenburg finished third, followed by Rick Burbridge and Jake Sheridan.

Chad Corcoran finished sixth, followed by Blair Wickett, Mark Burbridge, Jake Gilbert, and Carson Nagy. Chris Howse finished 11th, followed by Shawn Chenoweth who was the first car to not finish all the event. Chenoweth originally qualified eighth, accepting the “double or nothing” challenge by dropping to the rear of the field for the green flag. he would get up to seventh before running into brake issues with 20 laps to go.
