Here’s our first look at Super Late Model veteran Shane Gowan’s ride for the 2014 season. The Boston, ON driver will compete fulltime with the OSCAAR Super Late Model tour, as a teammate to OSCAAR Rookie of the Year contender Corey Jones. Gowan ran a partial schedule in 2013, tallying 3 top-10s in 7 starts.
‘The Silver Fox’ has received a number of off-season upgrades courtesy of chassis guru Junior Hanley and will be ready to kick off the 2014 season this Sunday at Sunset Speedway, for Round 1 of the OSCAAR Tour. Marketing support for Gowan’s upcoming campaign provided by Lucas Oil, Creative Edge Signs & Graphics, Hallett Fabrication, Misener Motorsports, Stop 53 Diner, Douglas Engines and Port City Racecars.
Sauble Speedway Mini Stock regular Kevin Bridge recently uploaded some on-board footage of his trip through the field at Sunset Speedway’s ‘Spring Derby 35’. Delaware Speedway has given us our first look at Gary Adriaensen’s freshly prepared Super Stock. The Belmon, ON driver – a 2-time Delaware Truck champion – has acquired the championship-winning chassis of veteran Jeff Showler. After a 2013 season that produced 6 victories in the Truck division, Adriaensen is viewed by many as a favourite to earn the 2014 Super Stock Rookie of the Year title. Marketing support for Adriaensen’s entry into the Super Stock division will come from Dowler Karn Fuels, Concorde Distributing, Jim’s Speed Equipment, Ultimate Sandblasting & Coatings, Speedpro Imaging of London, IBEW Local 120, Belmont Automotive and Great Lakes Photography. Hurricane Midget standout turned OSCAAR Modified regular Mike Westwood (above. by Ashley McCubbin) made his first career Ontario Pro Challenge Series start this past weekend at Sunset Speedway. Luckily for us, Westwood had his GoPro camera along for the ride, and has uploaded some fantastic footage of his newly acquired ride’s maiden voyage.
