VARNEY, ON – Fans at Full Throttle Motor Speedway this past Friday night where treated to a couple of firsts to go down in the history books.
To start the night off fans got to meet an incredible young man by the name of Morgan Robson from Utopia who despite being born with no legs races a Mini Stock with the use of hand controls.
This was Morgan’s first trip to the highbanks and on top of racing in the three Mini Stock features this night he also was helped into the flag stand to flag one of the Pro Late Model features and looked as comfortable doing that as he did behind the wheel of his race car.
In the Mini Stock division it was a combination of a great handling car, excellent driving, timely cautions and a little old fashion luck that all came together for #51 Clark Hartman from Waterloo as he would take all three of the twenty lap features securing his name in the history book.
In Pro Late Model this week feature one would see no cautions but a lot of close hard racing in the end it would be #11 Cole Weber from New Hamburg taking the checkered flag. Feature two of the night saw the excitement factor turned up to high as the battle of the night was between Weber and Justin McLellan, who ultimately claimed the chaotic win.
In Pure Stock, Nick Clarke worked his way through the field to add another checker to his collection this season. Feature 2 produced a first time winner; Don Tremble.
The Crazy Trains were surprisingly well-behaved and need only minimal repairs after finishing both features. In Feature 1, Listowel’s Here We Go Again took the win, while the second checkered flag went to the Texas Traincar Massacre.
Racing resumes this Friday with the Pro Late Models, V8 Thunder Stocks, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks and the Crazy Trains!
