MILLGROVE, ON – Despite COVID-19, the tradition of Frostoberfest will carry forward at Flamboro Speedway, with the event taking place on October 3, 2020. This year’s running will feature the Late Models, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Young Drivers Canadian Vintage Modifieds. Frostoberfest will once again have heavy support from London Recreational Racing and others.
LRR’s Mike Schmidt has once again commissioned Rankin Inlet artist Hop Issaluk to create the coveted igloo carvings for the Pro Late Model, Super Stock and Mini Stock feature winners. LRR and Grisdale Racing Products are also contributing toward the PLM purse. Caldecott Millwright Services is helping with the Super Stock purse and Rich Schwartzenburg is assisting with promotions.
With the current government restrictions, only 100 spectators will be allowed in attendance for the event. The pre-sales in that regard have been taking place through the Ontario Pro Late Model facebook page.
The Mini Stocks and Pure Stocks will be running a 40-lap feature each, with the Young Drivers Canadian Vintage Modifieds running 30 laps, 75 laps for the Late Models, and 50 laps for the Super Stocks. Each division will be time trialing to set the field.
Each division has a specified entry time for the event that may enter the pits at. All team members must show up together at the gate, entering as a group, with no one allowed in-and-out privileges throughout the event. Please note that if you show-up outside of your arrival time, you will not be allowed to enter and you will forfeit your money. Each class will be given a practice session prior to the event.
Social distancing rules will be in effect as they have been through the events thus far, with masks highly recommended. You must have hand sanitizer in your pits, with gloves strongly encouraged. You must always remain in your pit stall, and if going to the stands, remain six feet apart from your neighbor. The concession stand will be open at a limited capacity, with bathrooms also available for usage. One-way radios are mandatory for drivers.
Please also note there will be absolutely no alcohol consumption allowed before, during, or after the event. If you are caught with alcohol, you will be penalized with a fine/suspension.
