May 28, 2013- With a win on opening night at Mohawk International Raceway a week earlier and a solid second place finish at Brockville Speedway, Dylan Evoy and the Evoy Racing team were ready to return to the track this week to continue their 2013 season. The schedule once again consisted of the usual Friday night trek to Mohawk Raceway in Hogansburg, New York followed by the quick drive to Brockville Speedway on Saturday.
Although the forecast hadn’t really called for rain Friday in the long range forecast leading up to the weekend, that is what the end result was for late Thursday and into Friday and track officials were forced to cancel their racing program.
Saturday’s weather also left considerable doubt, but like many other questionable night’s at Brockville they were able to get their show completed despite a few moments of light rain. After falling victim to a mechanical failure on opening night at the BOS, Evoy took advantage of a front row starting spot in both the qualifying heat race and the 25 lap main event later in the night. Evoy won his heat race, and lead the feature for the first 16 laps before falling to second place. He remained in second throughout the final distance.
“The car was working pretty well but we are still trying to dial this newer car in for Brockville”, says Evoy.
This coming weekend, Evoy will return to Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night, and will be back at the Brockville Ontario Speedway on Saturday night for the first race in the Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Sportsman Series. Ogilvie’s is a primary sponsor on the Evoy Racing machine, and the team would like nothing more than to represent their sponsor with a win on Saturday night.
Evoy Racing would like to thank Ogilvie’s Auto & Fleet Service, Plooy’s Plumbing and Heating, 1000 Islands RV Centre, Renovators Inc., Napa Auto Parts Universal Supply Group, Genesis Racing Shocks, Fireball Performance Automatics, MIE Autobody and Collision, Linde, Canadian Tire, Wurth and NGK Spark Plugs. A special thanks also goes out to ‘Stick’ and ‘Big Block’ for their help and support.
