CANFIELD, ON – After much anticipation, the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series has released its 2013 schedule. This will be the seventh season for the 10.90 sportsman drag racing series, with events in both Canada and the US.
There are eleven races confirmed with two more in the works according to TNTSS Director of Operations, Ted Barnes. One significant change this year is that the Dilts Piston Hydraulics Race of Champions (ROC) will be held in early August at St Thomas Raceway Park and it will be contested on the eighth mile for the first time.
As well, the TNTSS has added an additional race at Dunn Tire Raceway Park (DTRP) for a total of five events at the Lancaster NY facility, up from four last year.
The 2013 season-opener will be Friday May 10th at DTRP and will serve as a terrific warm up to the NHRA divisional race the following weekend in Norwalk, Ohio.
The TNTSS then returns to DTRP on Friday May 24th again just a week before the IHRA Pro Am in Pittsburgh, PA.
The first Canadian event is a double weekend on June 8-9th at Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario. Then it’s back to DTRP for a Canada Day weekend event on Friday June 28th.
St Thomas Raceway Park will host a mid-season Canadian double on August 3-4th which also includes the Race of Champions, making this a triple race weekend for many.
Friday August 23rd sees the competition return to DTRP and then the final Canadian stop on August 31-September 1st (Labour Day weekend) back at Cayuga Dragway.
The 2013 TNTSS season will then come to a close and the seventh series champion will be crowned at DTRP on Friday September 13th.
Stay tuned to www.tntsuperseries.com for two more dates to be added before the schedule is final with a total of 13 events to crown the 2013 champion in the most competitive sportsman series in the country. Also watch for significant enhancements to the 2013 racer payout structure to be announced in coming weeks.
