GRAND BEND, ON – The 26th Annual IHRA Gulf Race Fuels Canadian Nationals took place on the Ontario Civic Holiday weekend at Grand Bend Motorplex in Grand Bend, Ontario. While persistent rain throughout the region forced the cancellation of the Sunday, August 2 portion of the event, competitors and fans were still treated to a full day of action on Saturday as officials successfully completed the entire scheduled show program.
Saturday’s racing featured multiple rounds of competition across a wide variety of classes. Among the highlights were the Heads Up Bikes, which set ‘high six second’ ETs at speeds exceeding 200 mph. Outlaw sleds, Top Dragster, Top Sportsman and Pro Mod competitors were also in action.
