Today, Canadian Tire announced that 2008 and 2011 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series champion, Scott Steckly will once again be racing for Canadian Tire, sporting the iconic triangle for the fourth consecutive year. The Milverton, Ontario resident will kick off the 12 race season at the newly named Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario on May 20, 2012.

“I’m grateful for the support I’ve received from Canadian Tire and their continued support of motorsports in Canada,” said #22 driver, Scott Steckly. “I am honoured to be part of such an incredible team and looking forward to another fantastic year on the track in 2012.”

As part of further establishing itself as Canada’s automotive authority, Canadian Tire continues to foster the growth of Motorsports in Canada. In addition to the NASCAR Canadian Tire series and driver sponsorships, Canada’s largest automotive retailer announced earlier this year a long term partnership with Mosport International Raceway. This renowned racing facility located in Bowmanville, Ontario, will now be known as Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

“A passion for racing is part of our DNA at Canadian Tire,” said Allan MacDonald, Senior Vice-President of Automotive, Canadian Tire. “Through the outstanding talent we continue to see on the track and the support of the fans, we’re thrilled to see how motorsport continues to grow year after year in Canada. As we head into the race season, we couldn’t be happier to announce that returning champion, Scott Steckly will once again be part of our team.”
