( @BrightonSpdwy ) BRIGHTON, ON – Brighton Speedway is excited to welcome Campbellford Chrysler and UCB Canada as presenting sponsors for championship night three of the 2014 season. The third-round of action at the 1/3-mile clay oval will feature all five weekly divisions for the second time this year.
The Vanderlaan Building Supplies Pro Late Models return to the track for the third time. Two different winners, Charlie Sandercock (No.57) and Phil Potts (No.29), have graced victory lane so far this year. Sandercock enters the night as the current points leader with a 20-point advantage over Potts and a 60-point cushion on Matt Vanderlinden (No.09).
The OilGARD Anti-Rust Canadian Modifieds are set for their second night of action. Dale Locke (No.13) scored a dramatic opening night win on a last lap pass. Four drivers used the off week last Saturday to take extra hot laps at the track in order to get an advantage, including 2012 track champion Dan Ferguson (No.11). Locke currently leads Andrew Hennessy (No.87) by 15 markers for the points lead.
Defending Brighton Automotive Pro Stock champion Doug Anderson (No.72) dominated the first race of the Larry’s Towing triple crown last week for his first win of the year. Anderson held off Leslie Mowat (No.2) for the victory. Mowat is just 20 points back of Anderson for the points lead, while Justin Ramsay (No.03) sits third at a 55-point deficit.
The Bill’s Johns Comp 4 division has been the Brady Greer (No.94) show so far this season. The Wellington, Ont. driver has won both features this season, but not without heavy pressure from Terry Hough (No.32) and Rich Sanders (No.29). Greer’s pair of wins leave him 25 points ahead of Hough, and 35 up on Sanders.
