TORONTO, ON – The Ontario government has just unveiled its rules for permitting fans to attend racing events at the province’s motorsports venes. Under the guidelines – which go into effect on June 30, 2021 as part of Ontario’s ‘Roadmap to Reopen’ Step 2 plan – motorsports facilities will be able to welcome a percentage of their capacity. This is a change from the hard-cap of 100 fans that was permitted, regardless of a facility’s size, during the 2020 season.
Included in a wide-ranging list of reopening limits and rules, Ontario’s racing facilities will be restricted to 25% of fan capacity during Step 2, which is expected to last at least 21 days.
Ontario has actually already surpassed the targets set for Step 3 of the reopening plan – in terms of percentages of the population who have already received their first and second doses.
