In an effort to increase the participation in the 2013 Peninsula Co-op Coca-Cola Canada 200 scheduled for August 30 & 31. Western Speedway is excited to announce that the 35th running of the event will see an increase in the purse, as well as an incentive for off island drivers who support the local Late Model program at Western Speedway.

With the increased sponsorship from Peninsula Co-op and Coca-Cola, the prestigious event will pay $2500 to win the 200 lap race, second place will receive $1700, with third receiving $1300.  All other positions will pay $550 to start the feature, as an extra bonus, off island cars that have participated in at least two of The Keg Late Model Series events will be guaranteed an additional $250 to start the feature.

Last year’s Canada 200 winner Dave Hemrich from Vancouver will be back to defend his title, along with the  2012 Keg Late Model Champion Wade Bland.  Combine that with the best Late Model drivers in Western Canada, and this year’s 200 should be one of the best ever.

For more information regarding these new partners please visit their websites at www.peninsulaco-op.com   and  www.coca-cola.ca  Please visit the Western Speedway website at   www.westernspeedway.net  for exciting news and updates.
