GRAND PRAIRIE, AB – This past weekend Team Silco and driver Benjamin Silliker traveled to Monroe, Washington for their final quarter midget race of the 2012 season. The 7 year old driver from Grand Prairie, Alberta has had a phenomenal rookie season, and was looking for a good run to end his quarter midget season.

Qualifying was a bit of a struggle for the team, as Ben needed to go through the lower mains to race his way into the A-main finals in both the Jr. Animal and Jr. Honda divisions. He did qualify directly into the A-Main in the Jr. Stock Class. In Jr. Honda, Ben won the D-main, and worked his way up and ended up qualifying all three cars into their respective A-Main events. In Jr. Stock and Jr. Honda he posted strong second place finishes, and posted and eighth place result in Jr. Animal.

With the 2012 season over with the quarter midget car, Ben finishes up as top rookie in all three classes. He finished fourth overall in Jr. Stock, eighth overall in Jr. Honda and 9th overall in the Jr. Animal division.

This coming weekend, Ben has been invited to test a mini cup/Bandelaro car this coming weekend at Edmonton International Raceway and will race the car on Saturday evening. This will be a big test for the young driver, jumping from an open wheel 250 pound quarter midget car to a full fendered 650 pound car.

After this week, the team will take a much needed three week break from racing, before getting started with the Red Bluff, California Winter Series. The Series goes for 13 weeks, and Team Silco will be looking to compete for the championship with the help of Pistol Pete and QRC Karts.

Team Silco Racing would like to thank all of our Marketing Partners for their support throughout the 2012 racing season on both Jason Silliker’s open wheel Modified and Benjamin Silliker’s Quarter Midget and QRC Factory Kart. These include Northstar Energy Services, TanMan Welding, All Class Fabrication, Russell Metals, Air Liquide, Black Dog Drilling, Pipe and Piling, Evolution Racing, Locked N Loaded Designs, and Platinum Grover.
