@SaubleFalls81 • @PtboSpeedway • HEPWORTH, ON – OSCAAR Super Late Model point leader Andrew Gresel is just one event removed from his first career tour championship. As the Autumn Colours Classic approaches, Gresel is equal parts motivated and grateful for all that’s happened already in 2014.
“I don’t think we could have asked for a better season,” smiles the soft-spoken star. “Last year was our first time on the tour, and we learned a tonne. We went home, read over our notes and worked all winter to apply it all and bring this program up a notch”
“We’re still learning,” continues Gresel. “Every time this trailer door goes up at the end of the night, we know more than we did that morning.”
With 4 victories in 11 starts this season, it’s clear that Gresel has found his footing within the Super Late Model realm. When asked about his success, the second-generation standout is quick to give credit to his weekly adversaries.
“This tour has some of the best competition I’ve ever raced against,” says Gresel. “Anytime I show up to an OSCAAR event, I know these guys are going to test me. There aren’t many teams out here that are messing around. These guys take it seriously, and if you want to run with ’em, you’ve got to take it serious too.”
Gresel will enter October 12th’s event with a 31-point lead in the tour’s championship standings, and while a conservative effort would be more than enough to secure the championship, Gresel maintains he will be looking for victory lane come Sunday afternoon.
“Parking in victory lane at Peterborough would be the perfect end to our season,” says the defending Autumn Colours Classic winner. “This is the biggest event we go to all year, and no win would mean more than this one.”
“My guys deserve a championship,” continues Gresel. “I’m excited to have a strong run at Peterborough, finish the year on a positive note and party with my team.”

Andrew Gresel’s 2014 season would not be possible without Sauble Falls Tent & Trailer Park, London Recreational, Canadian Union of Skilled Workers, HY-Grade Roofing, Have1.com and Raden Givari of eHomes.
