Throughout his career, Adam Turner has spent time in almost every possible piece of equipment the local motorsports scene has to offer.
For the 2023 schedule, the 40-year-old father of 3 from Ameliasburg, Ontario will split track time between his own Late Model ride and as a hired-gun for Luke Stewart Motorsports in the team’s 602 Crate Sprint Car. The second-generation speedster from Prince Edward County has long said that he’ll race anything, anywhere, anytime, This season, he could very well have the chance to prove the truth in that pledge.
“Because of the recent rainout, we’ve still only managed to run one race in each car,” Adam Turner said. “There will be more shows to come, but it’s been a good year so far. I finished 5th in the Late Model on Saturday, May 6th at Brighton Speedway. In the opening round with the Sprint Car – Saturday, May 13th at Brockville – I was 4th. A pair of top 5’s in different cars at different tracks is a good way to start the season.”
Turner says that making more than just a couple starts here and there in someone else’s equipment is new to him and he’s very thankful to Luke and Glenn Stewart and the crew for the opportunity. After running Street Stocks, Sportsman-Mods and 358 Modifieds early on, the Sprint Car is something completely new and there is a still a lot to learn.
“I have less than a handful of starts in the Sprint Car and it has been a pretty steep education,” Turner said. “Everyone has been very supportive and great to deal with when it comes to answering questions. These cars are a lot of fun to drive and I don’t think it’ll too much longer before I’m able to park it in victory lane.”
Both of Adam Turner’s 2023 rides carry sponsorship support from Village Variety & Gas Bar, with primary backing on the No, 9 Sprint Car from Draper Doors. Special thanks to Andrew Gates of Gates Graphics.
