Sauble Beach, ON (June 28, 2017)- After showing speed early in the night, Zac Sprung’s night came to an unfortunate early end as a result of heavy front end damage.
The night started off rough, with Sprung going airborne over Travis McLean’s hood in turn one. Despite sustaining significant damage, he would cross the line in the fourth position.
Starting pole in the second heat, he ran second for the five laps. However, restarting on the outside on a restart resulted in Sprung fading back to fifth by the checkered flag.
He was poised for a strong run in the feature, when a bump in turn one resulted in him making significant contact with Ken Grubb, bending the front-end bars and busting the radiator, ending his night prematurely.
Sprung will be back in action for the next night of competition at Sauble Speedway on Friday, June 30.
While his eyes are set on having success, he’s also raising money for Camp Bucko, which stands for “Burn Camp for Kids.” It is a place for children who have been involved in traumatic accidents and fires resulting in serious burn injuries. With just one week of competition in the books, he has already raised $200 towards the year-end goal of $5000.
Be sure to stop by and see Sprung at the track, as for a minimum donation of $5, you will be allowed to autograph his racecar. Fans interested in making a donation online can do so by going to www.campbucko.ca, making sure to mention Zach Sprung #4 firefriendsfamily campaign to link it to the fundraising efforts at the track.
