MERLIN, Ontario (August 18, 2018) – Dylan Westbrook continued his mastery of South Buxton Raceway on Saturday night, as the defending Southern Ontario Sprints champion took his fourth consecutive win at the unique D-shaped 1/3 mile track.

Cory Turner and Ryan Turner entered the weekend first and second in the SOS championship points standings, and the brothers started the South Buxton feature race side-by-side on the front row. Dylan Westbrook started 6th, but the 2016 and 2017 SOS champion quickly moved up to dice with Cory and Ryan for the win. With only one yellow flag to slow the action, traffic came into play on the tricky South Buxton track; Westbrook prevailed to take his 16th career SOS feature win, and fourth at South Buxton.

Ryan Turner, Cory Turner, local favourite Tyler Hendricks, and Warren Mahoney rounded out the top five, while Shawn Sliter, Frank Baranowski, Jamie Turner, Curtis Gartly, and Kyle Phillips took top ten spots. Heat races were claimed by Ryan Turner and Tyler Hendricks, while Jamie Turner took the win in the Gilleta Flooring Dash For Cash.

Westbrook’s runner-up at Ohsweken on Friday and win at South Buxton on Saturday moved the defending champ into second in the 2018 SOS championship standings, 49 points behind Cory Turner, who finished 6th at Ohsweken. Ryan Turner is now third in the standings, followed by Shawn Sliter, Jamie Turner, Warren Mahoney, Frank Baranowski, Tyler Hendricks, Josh Sliter, and Steve Lyons.

Next on the Southern Ontario Sprints schedule is the 16th annual Labour Day Classic weekend at Brighton Speedway. Two full points SOS events anchor the big weekend coming up on Saturday, September 1, and Sunday, September 2. For additional event information visit www.brightonspeedway.ca
