STROUD, ON (May 25, 2018)- With preparations for the season coming down to the last minute, Wally Wilson ran into a couple issues that he was unable to overcome at Sunset Speedway’s Spring Velocity.
After missing practice, Wilson ran at the back of each of the qualifying heats, trying to get some laps in behind the wheel of the No. 69 OSCAAR Modified to get comfortable.
Starting at the back for the 40-lap feature, Wilson was looking to buy his time moving forward. However, the early-season bugs began to struck immediately as he ran into radio issues. Things did not get better from there, as he would begin to smell fuel, knowing the team had a fuel leak, pulling off into the infield.
“We’re taking the positives out of the weekend,” Wilson said. “We showed speed, gained even more experience and we will return to Kawartha Speedway in a couple weeks with our heads held high knowing we’re improving every week!”
The OSCAAR Modifieds will be back in action at Kawartha Speedway on June 1 alongside the OSCAAR Hot Rod Series, Ontario Legends Series, and Bone Stocks. Make sure to come out and check out the great night of racing, remembering to either print or show the coupon to get $5 off your general admission.
Wilson will be in action before then, though, taking part in the Outlaw Midget event this coming weekend – May 26 – at Full Throttle Motor Speedway.
