HALIFAX, NS – Shawn Tucker of Fredericton, NB drove to victory in Round Ten of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour on Saturday evening at Petty International Raceway. Tucker took the lead on Lap 77 from defending Parts for Trucks 150 champion Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) and would not relinquish the lead over the second half of the event after Turple led the most laps of the race from the outside of the front row.

Tucker’s #52 Rockico Equipment Limited Chevrolet crossed the line first over Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) and Exide Batteries Rookie Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS), who scored his first career podium on the Tour. Completing the top five in the Parts for Trucks 150 were Prince Edward Island’s Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown) and Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall).

The day began with MacKinnon taking fast time in the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials with a 13.758 second lap. After a shakeup for the top six drivers and the King Freight Lines ten lap Dash for Cash, it was Gosbee who would start the Parts for Trucks 150 in the top spot.

Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races went to Blenkhorn and Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE). Blenkhorn’s third place finishing spot earned him the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race award. Enfield’s Shawn Turple took the lead from the start and held it until just after the halfway point to earn him the Linde Most Laps Led Award. Cole Butcher rocketed his car ahead the most positions to sixth spot earning him the Absolute Traffic Hard Charger Award.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is off next weekend, but will return on Saturday, September 7 at a new race time of 4:30pm at Riverside Speedway. Tickets are now on sale at www.riversidespeedway.ca.
