SAUBLE BEACH, ON (August 31, 2017)- Despite experiencing an up-and-down night, Travis McLean was able to leave Sauble Speedway on Saturday night with a top-10 finish.
The afternoon practice did not go as planned, with valuable time lost fighting carburetor issues. However, he didn’t let that faze him for the first qualifier, posting a sixth-place finish, followed by a fifth in the second heat.
The team would make more adjustments prior to the feature, and McLean started off well as he made his way up to sixth, looking for fifth, when he was caught up in a wreck ahead of him with extensive front end damage. The team made repairs, before sending him back out where he’d restart at the tail of the field. He pushed hard once back out there, posting an eighth-place finish.
The team is now focused on having a strong run to close out the season, in hopes of picking up a few points to score a sixth-place points finish with the No. 6.
