PETERBOROUGH, ON (August 23, 2017)- They’ve been on the road for almost a month, but the drivers and teams with the Trailers Plus Eastern Ontario Legends Series are ready to make their final regular season appearance of the year on Saturday, August 26 at Peterborough Speedway. Officials say that the tour has been everything they could have hoped for from the inaugural schedule.
“We’ve had some amazing racing and brought some new teams into the fold,” said Jeff Drimmie, who along with Andrew McFadden, Geordie Ledson and Kevin Foisy, works to keep the EOLS journey rolling. “Car counts have been very strong at every event, with fans and track promoters very excited about the brand we’re building.”
Drimmie points to the National Qualifiers awarding guaranteed starting spots for the U.S. Legends Asphalt Nationals at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, as glowing examples of the success of the series. Each show brought starting line-ups in the mid 20’s to chase the prestigious honour.
The Saturday, August 26 event at Peterborough Speedway is a homecoming of sorts for the Trailers Plus Eastern Ontario Legends Series. Seven of this year’s 15 shows are part of the regular season schedule at the venue known as Canada’s Toughest 1/3-Mile Paved Oval. The tour will also be part of the annual Autumn Colours Classic for the second year in a row.
This weekend, pit gates will open at 3:00 with general admission grandstands unlocked at 5:00. Racing gets underway at 6:00.
