Bowmanville, ON (September 3, 2017)-  David Thorndyke welcomed new sponsor Singe Sauce Works to the #67 team this weekend.  Thorndyke piloted the #67 Singe Sauce Works/Thorsons EVT Chevrolet for round number 11 of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series this past weekend.  Unfortunately the handling of the car was as spicy as the sauces at times as well.

During the Saturday practice session felt a nasty vibration in the #67 Singe Sauce Works/Thorsons EVT Chevrolet that limited the number of laps they completed.

“It was pretty bad and I didn’t want to stay out and do any serious damage to the car” said Thorndyke after the session.

Another obstacle was the track conditions at the start of the 51-lap race.  Morning rain showers meant the race began under wet conditions and grooved tires for the #67 Singe Sauce Works/Thorsons EVT Chevrolet.  The challenging conditions made it difficult for Thorndyke

“For some reason the car was on the verge of spinning out every time I put down the throttle” explained the driver.

Fortunately as the race went on the track dried and conditions improved and so did the fortunes of the #67 Singe Sauce Works/Thorsons EVT Chevrolet.

“After we made our pit stop and changed to slicks the car was much better.  I could feel the power of the motor and use it,” explained the driver.

Thorndyke continued to push hard but with the early difficulties the finishing result was very disappointing for the #67 Singe Sauce Works/Thorsons EVT Chevrolet team.

“It was a frustrating race in the early going” he stated.  “But in the second half, in the dry, the car was a lot better but by then we’d lost so much ground it wasn’t possible to make it up”.

David Thorndyke and the #67 Thorsons EVT Chevrolet team have now concluded their race schedule for the 2017 season.  The team wishes to thank the fans and all those that supported their efforts.  They encourage you to enjoy the remaining events and look forward to returning to the track in 2018.
