For the first time ever, the traditional start and finish of Ontario’s short track racing season collide, as the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo becomes the presenting sponsor of Peterborough Speedway’s Autumn Colours Classic.
The APC Autumn Colours Classic presented by Motorama will take place this Friday through Sunday, October 6 to 8, at the 1/3-mile Peterborough Speedway. The event will feature practice, qualifying and features for 10 classes of cars.
The Electric City 167 Late Model race will headline the 30th annual Autumn Colours Classic, a star-studded affair that’s previously been won by J.R. Fitzpatrick, Brandon Watson and Ryan Kimball. The prestigious event also features a stacked line-up of features for the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series, OSCAAR Modifieds and Hot Rods, Outlaw Midgets, Canadian Legend Car Series, Junior Late Models, Mini Stock, Bone Stock and Super Stock.
“The racing that we put on is second to none… it’s just non-stop action and everybody’s giving it all they have to try and earn that crown,” said Peterborough Speedway owner JP Josiasse. “We work very hard to put an event together that ticks off all the boxes… it’s a very family-oriented facility and event and that’s how we treat people and that’s what they should expect. They should expect to come here and feel like they’ve joined another family and getting to have some amazing racing.”
The APC Autumn Colours Classic presented by Motorama is the biggest fall classic on the Canadian stock car calendar, with 11-12,000 fans in attendance and over 200 campsites sold out each year. Campers start rolling in on the Wednesday, with live music, a BBQ and breakfasts headlining off-track festivities.“To partner up with APC Auto Parts and Motorama will allow us to continue to grow this event,” said Josiasse. “At the same token, it helps both ends. With Motorama, I’m hoping this becomes a partnership for a long time and that we can drive the growth of their show and, at the same time, have them be part of one of the most prestigious events in the province.”
The Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors takes place March 8, 9 & 10, 2024 at The International Centre in Toronto. As the unofficial start to the Canadian racing season, the show will be the next time that the racing community comes together, in large numbers, following the Autumn Colours Classic, making the event a natural fit for the show.
A team of Motorama representatives will be on hand at Peterborough Speedway, distributing ‘save the date’ cards and answering questions about renting a booth or bringing a car to the show. With over 30,000 automotive and racing fans walking through the Motorama gates each year, it’s a perfect place for a track, series or racing-related business to kick off their season.
