July 8, 2014- After a solid second place finish at Brockville last Saturday night, Jon Mills and the Hot Lick Racing team were looking for just a little more as they returned to the BOS for a 40 lap Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series race.
Mills was fast from the beginning of the night, setting fast time overall in the timed hot lap session, earning a front row position in the qualifying heat race. Jon won his qualifier, and started on the front row for the 40 lap main event. Mills took the lead early, using the bottom lane of the track to grab to top spot before the first caution on lap seven. Mills held the top spot for the next several laps, before falling to second just before halfway. Mills maintained a solid performance, and crossed the finish line in third place.
“It was a good run, but we are looking to get a win”, says Mills. “The competition is real tough, but we will keep working hard and hopefully we can get one soon”.
Mills will be back in action at the BOS this coming Saturday night. He is currently fifth in the overall Sportsman point standings at Brockville, and is third in points in the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series with just one race remaining next month.
