@TNTSuperSeries • NEW YORK (May 17, 2015) The ninth season in the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series begins this weekend with two races – Lancaster on Friday May 22 then Empire on Saturday May 23.
Presented by Steve’s Electric, the Memorial Day weekend double has become a TNTSS tradition. “We are so lucky to have the freedom to race these cars. Most people in the world never have this type of opportunity,” said Ted Barnes, TNTSS Director. “Steve McCarrick and team have been strong supporters of our series since day one and have always been behind our Memorial Day weekend events.”
First stop this weekend is Lancaster National Speedway and Dragway in Lancaster NY where TNTSS racers will see 1/8 mile action on Friday. The facility at Lancaster has had significant improvements over the winter including some resurfacing of the shutdown area. New General Manager Melissa McGowan is doing a great job turning this facility around.
Then Saturday it’s off to Empire Dragway in Leicester NY and racers will change set ups to 1/4 mile. “Empire Dragway has also seen a refresh thanks to Jerry Scaccia who is heading into his second full year,” added Ted.
As always, racers in the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series will see the best payouts in the country with an event win paying $1000 with as few as 30 cars in the field. Round money starting with round two wins along with many specialty awards make this series very popular among sportsman racers. This weekend also means the start of the 2015 points chase and both races are qualifiers for the REVS Full Throttle Race of Champions later this season.
New in 2015 will be the GUARANTEED TO WIN event – presented by Roy & Tara Lister – coming up on August 22 at the IHRA Pro Am at Empire Dragway. Visit www.tntsuperseries.com for all you need to know about the best sportsman series on the planet!
