@saublespeedway •@OSCAARracing •(Sauble Beach, ON (June 23, 2016)- The OSCAAR Midgets will have a bonus available to them at Sauble Speedway on July 1.
OSCAAR is proud to announce the Fyre Place and Patio Shop will be sponsoring a bonus drivers can collect. Each of the top-five point producers at Sauble Speedway, combining heat and feature points, will receive an additional $100 payout.
Though to note, the bonus will only be given to the drivers once they register to race at Flamboro Speedway the following weekend, July 9. If a driver who is eligible does not register for Flamboro, the prize will be given to the next eligible driver.
“With the new generation of racing, and with the spirit of not only acknowledging the race feature winner, encouraging participants to each event, we thought we would sponsor a race and recognize the top 5 point producers of the day,” Paul Wilson said.
The Fyre Place & Patio Shop can handle all of your fire and patio needs, ranging from patio furniture to grills and fireplaces. Located in Owen Sound, their company is known for their top quality customer service. Learn more about them at http://www.thefyreplace.com/index.php.
The Fyre Place & Patio Shop is actively already involved in OSCAAR, sponsoring the No. 69 OSCAAR Midget driven by Wally Wilson.
“I think it’s great that my biggest sponsor is stepping up to help the OSCAAR Midgets at my home track,” Wally Wilson said. “They’ve done so much for Motorsports over the years, starting out with sponsoring Sean Stobbe’s Jr. late model about 15 years ago, getting out of it for a few years, but getting back to sponsoring a race team last season with me in the OSCAAR Midgets!”
Wilson added he’s always enjoyed watching OSCAAR competition since he was a kid, and to be apart of the series is great, like being part of one big happy family. The teenager currently sits third in points following a best-career finish of third at Flamboro.
“The racing has been a lot cleaner this year and off track, everyone’s able to joke around and have a good time,” he said. “It’s been surreal being more competitive than I expected to be this season, I knew I’d be a contender but never knew I’d be above my original goal of 5th in the standings.
“My thoughts going into Sauble are that it’s going to be the biggest midget race of the season, and the fact that it’s happening at my home track makes it even more special to me. I’m hoping to have my sponsors, family and friends up in the crowd cheering me on. Sauble has always been my favourite place to be in the summer and the fact I get to spend Canada Day doing what I love close to home makes it even better! Hopefully after that third place finish at Flamboro, I can put it in victory lane at home!”
The OSCAAR Midgets will be joined by the OSCAAR Modifieds at Sauble Speedway. Full details on the night can be found at Sauble Speedway’s website at http://www.saublespeedway.ca.
